I think in English last year we read a short story about a world where they had people ride different "metals" of dragon such as bronze, green, red...

Hmm... Really? This is actually based off of the book series "The Dragonriders of Pern" aka DRoP. There are five colors; golds, bronzes, browns, blues, and greens.

But that sounds like an interesting story. ^^ Do you remember the title, by any chance?

Hm... that actually sounds like the book I was thinking off. :3

Dont they enter a cave to have the dragons hatch and choose them, and then they ride them off to fight some sort of spore stuff?

We read a short part from the story in English and I just recognized the dragon-ish-ness displayed and stuff. :P
